Well, for all those who are holding out hope for a Shunji redemption will be receiving another shock in this episode. Still, can’t say how things might end. Who knows, he really may get a last moment redemption-not in the sense of complete turnover, but maybe in the sense that he’ll at least not kill his best friend. Yet, who knows?

In Dong Jin’s camp, they begin to plan the manseh movement.

Kang To mutters, “From now on what will happen to Shunji?” as in flashback, he is shown running from the Kimura residence, Shunji hot on his heels and them both fighting. Mok Dan calls him “Young Master!” as in the fight, Kang To throws down his Gaksital weapons and takes off his mask. In voiceover, he says, “One day, Shunji and I will have no choice but to fight!”
Dong Jin and comrades discuss their plan and he says, “All we have to do now is to gather our troops and the Mansei movement will be all set to move into action.” Shunji whispers something to Koiso n there’s too much music in between so I can’t understand it. As Shunji stares out his office window, he mutters, “Alright, Lee Kang To… Let’s take this to the end!” Koiso brings two students to meet him-the students who are to be drafted for the army!
Dong Jin tells his comrades, “We must succeed!” and they hold hands together. In conference with the governor general, Wada is briefed by Yoshio, “Kimura Shunji is presently going after the Dong Jin’s death troops. This time we can be sure.” Wada excitedly asks, “Really?”
Shunji loads his gun defiantly, ready for a kill and in announcement to his officers, “This time, when we move out to the tiger’s den, make sure to catch Yang Baek, Dong Jin and Oh Mok Dan. But, I will kill Lee Kang To!”
We all know Gaksital was preempted for 24 episodes which were then increased to 28! Thank GOD! I love that there’s still ten episodes more to go! Since there was the 4 episode extension, the producer decided to add a fresh character to the cast. They picked 27-year-old actress Jung Eun Byul who will play an elite agent of the independence movement. Her character, Jin Hong, born as the daughter of famous family who support independence movement against Japanese imperialism. She excels in martial arts, shooting and even piloting war-planes. She’s also fluent in English, Russian and Chinese languages.
*Whistles* Yup, Romance is in the air people! Wooohoooo! Here’s the written and video preview for Gaksital episode 18! Again, there’ll be just one episode this week but it seems that episode will make us go even crazier, if the written preview is to be followed! Gosh, I so want it to be Wednesday like, NOW!

Translation (Might not be 100% accurate but I’ve tried to do it the best I can):
When Shunji realizes Mok Dan is missing from the hotel room she was kept in-to be killed by Hong Joo (Rie) and finds out that she was rescued by Gaksital…… The next morning, Kang To does not come to the police station which raises strong suspicions….. Meanwhile, Shunji is convinced Gaksital will appear at Damsari’s public execution and finally, he shoots the rescuing Gaksital……
Uh oh! 😐 Yup, I’m sure that’s what it says but I’ll keep an eye out just to confirm! The word used is shoot but I’m not too sure about the tense sine it can also be he means to shoot, or he is wanting to shoot…
Yup, my Korean still lags quite a bit!
Shunji goes to find Dan at Rie’s and repeats his warning to her-even Daddy Kimura is stunned by his son’s outburst. Circus Master Jo asks if Damsari is really going to be executed and Shunji replies something about protecting him for the rest of his life-Uh oh, is Jo turning traitor?! For real? And what’s more is that he is dressing up as Gaksital. Why? Is he hoping to rescue Damsari, and hence not a traitor or is he doing this on Shunji’s beck and call? Dong Nyeo witnesses the exchange, it seems. At the police Station, Shunji notices Kang To is missing and thinks to himself, “Kang To didn’t come/appear? Oh Mok Dan disappeared?” And that kick he’s giving is to the officer he appointed to trail Kang To. Good thing he’s so bad at what he does or Kang To would’ve had a bigger problem on his hands! Shunji raids the dorms trying to look for her and sets the trap for Gaksital, muttering that he’ll catch him in two days, just two days. That’s when Damsari gets executed, right? Dan asks Kang To how Lee Kang To-the Japanese Police Officer become so different? Kang To says, “I don’t think I can take off this mask, there are too many people suffering…” Dan promises him, “I’ll never let you be alone.”
Enjoy the preview and I’m sure everyone will be anxious to see the ending of the preview in the episode soon! 😛 And is Shunji really going to shoot Kang To?! *shudders*
Kang To’s world crashed down in the last episode and although he gets his revenge, it still leaves him in the middle of nowhere since he’s lost the one source of comfort and joy he had. He fights his own inner demons while the world tries to make sense of Gaksital and wonder if he is alive or not. Kang To gets a little glimpse of Gaksital-who, what, why and how, but cannot find the answers that satisfy him just yet. It’s the beginning of a new journey, plagued by guilt and remorse and he faces the fact that he is now truly left alone. Every episode gets better and better for Gaksital and you are left bleeding your heart out for more!
Episode 7 Recap:
Kang To sits by his brother’s grave after the funeral, staring at the mask. Crying, he turns to his brother’s grave and remembers the time his brother had saved him and the moment when he had shot him. It’s heartbreaking as he cries-how could hyung let his own brother kill him? He should have said something, should have done something. “How am I going to live now? How CAN I live now?” Turning back to the mask with hatred in his eyes, Kang To addresses hyung, “What is this? Was it that important? More than our family? Who appreciates it? Who appreciates it if HYUNG did THAT?” Baek Gun stands at a distance, tearing up at Kang To’s sorrow.
